YHS Track and Field Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs will compete in six events at State Meet

    The Yoakum High School (YHS) Lady Bulldogs Track Team scored 60 points and placed third in the region meet Friday and Saturday in Seguin with the boys scoring 52 points to tie for fourth place.

    Jayana Phillips qualified for state in the 400-meter dash and triple jump.

    For the Bulldogs, Chase Polk will compete in the 400 along w i t h t h e 4 0 0 - re l ay team of Trae Cuellar, X’Zavier Barnett, Qyion Williams, Kennan Dilworth, and Zach Taylor.

    The 800-relay squad of Cuellar, Barnett, Brayden Neuabauer, Dilworth and Taylor also advanced to the state meet.

    400: Prelims: 1st, Jayana Phillips, 59.75. Finals: 1st, Phillips, 59.51.

    100 Hurdles: Prelims: 5th, Emmie Leftwich, 17.34. Finals: 5th, Leftwich, 17.12.

    300 Hurdles: Prelims: 4th, Aubrie Jendrzey, 48.04; 7th, Leftwich, 49. Finals: 4th, Jendrzey, 47.05; 7th, Leftwich, 49.36,

    Shot Put: 8th, Destiny Rios, 34-9.

    Long Jump: 3rd, Phillips, 19-3.

    Triple Jump: 1st, Phillips, 40-3 3/4.
