'Nettes advance

The Sacred Heart Indianettes ravaged Conroe Covenant, 15-0, here Tuesday, April 30 in a TAPPS area round game.

The game was called after the fourth inning because of the mercy rule.

Pitcher Avery Beach was the beneficiary of 13 Indianette hits. The sophomore right-hander hit a batter and gave up no hits. Two other Covenant batters reached on an error

Ella Demel hit her team-leading eighth home run of the season in the rout and went 3-for-3 with four runs batted in. She also tripled.

The ’Nettes (20-10-2) scored a run in the first inning when Demel came across on a wild pitch after drawing a walk.

SH put up crooked numbers in the second and third innings.

Six runs scored in the second inning. Karley Kostelnik smacked a lead-off double and after a walk to Kenzie Chance, Beach singled home both. Beach scored on a wild pitch, Rylan Dworsky doubled and rode home on a triple by Demel. Demel scored on a sacrifice fly by Ava Lackey before the final out was made.

Dworsky drove in two runs with a single in the six-run third, the inning that Demel connected for a two-run homer

The Indianettes scored runs number 14 and 15 in the fourth inning sending fans home early. Demel and Dworsky both singled in runs

The Indianettes played Bryan St. Joseph in the state quarterfinals Tuesday in Waller.
