Notes
Peterson made the CUSA All-Freshman team.  He made his first career start on March 26 vs Rice, punching out a season-high seven batters in five innings and retiring the final 15 Owls he faced to record his first collegiate win.
Included in the performance was an immaculate inning in the third, needing just nine pitches to strike out the side; the seven strikeout total was the most by a Bearkat freshman since Coltin Atkinson had four games of seven plays strikeouts in 2021.
The strikeout total was also the highest total by a Bearkat freshman making his first career start since Kyle Backhus struck out seven Buffalo Bulls in 3 2/3 innings of work in 2017.
Peterson is currently playing for the Mat-Su Miners in the Alaskan Baseball League until the first week of August.
