Yoakum Little League All-Stars Junior Girls compete in Sectional Tournament

    The Yoakum Little League All-Stars Junior Girls competed in the Sectional Tournament in Lockhart July 2-6.

    They began the double elimination tournament July 1 as Sinton and Calhoun played and Sinton won. Yoakum played Sinton and lost 7-3 July 2. Yoakum won against Calhoun 7-6 July 3. Yoakum won against Sinton 7-5 July 5. This was Sinton's only loss in the entire season. In the game, Grace Nevlud had a bat score 3-5.

    She hit a grand slam to right field, bringing in the winning runs and securing a spot for Yoakum in the Sectional Championship game.

    Yoakum lost to Sinton 10-0 after moving fields July 6 and had a 2 1/2 hour rain delay.

    We are incredibly proud of this group of girls that came together from Yoakum, Shiner, and Cuero to win the District 31 tournament.
