Major League Boys eliminated by West University
NEW BRAUNFELS – The Hallettsville Minor League All-Stars were eliminated by West University, 16-1, Monday evening.
West University scored nine first-inning runs and also used five Hallettsville errors in the three-inning game.
Carter Barnes drove in the lone Hallettsville run with a single in the second inning.

Defeated Houston West University, 8-2, in the first game of the tournament Saturday.
Colt Wagner was the starting and winning pitcher. Wagner worked four innings and gave up one run, three walks and struck out eight.
Holt Thigpen, Nash Bucek and Peyton Blahuta pitched in relief.
Hallettsville opened the scoring with two runs in the second inning.
Thigpen started the inning with a double and moved to third on a base hit by Blahuta. Colton Barnes singled to score Thigpen. Lane Brandes walked with the bases loaded to force in Blahuta.
A sacrifice fly by Cole Kocian scored Wagner who had hit a one-out double for a 3-1 advantage.
Hallettsville started distancing themselves from West University with a three-run fourth inning.
Thigpen,Blahuta and Jackson Pustejovsky all walked to begin the frame. Thigpen scored on a wild pitch and Blahuta on a fielder’s choice by Carter Barnes. Pustejovsky later scored on a wild pitch.
Hallettsville added two runs in the fifth.
Chans Janak beat out an infield hit and Wagner was hit by a pitch. Wagner scored on an errant pitch prior to Wagner stealing home.
