Council approves ammendments

The Hallettsville City Council met in regular session Monday evening.

The council approved amendment #2 for engineering services for the Community Development Block Grant.

A grant of $1.39 million was accepted for a new water well on the Ridge well site.

An amendment for grant administrative services to include the Texas Government Land Office was okayed.

This includes $10,000 for environmental and $101,808 for grant administration.

The council amended Municipal Airport regulations.

Hallettsville police made 15 arrests for 28 violations last month.

Three arrests were for possession of drug paraphernalia and 11 for warrants.

The city received $57,407.80 for sale and use taxes in June compared to $66,604.49 in May.

The city is down 3.5% year-to-date over last year.

The Friench Simpson Memorial Library had 2,372 visitors last month.

Revenue for the library was $243.95 which includes $90.75 for copies, $125.70 for fines, $20 for replacement books and $7.50 for replacing library cards.

The council voted to pay bills totaling $302,140.75.

Dakota Ratley was introduced as a new employee.
