Laverne Walleck

Laverne Linda Walleck, 72, of League City, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 27, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 16, 1952 in Shiner to Elo and Lillie (Berger) Kremling. Laverne was a stay at home Mom, making her family the center of her life. She married Gene Walleck and for the next 52 years they were making memories, celebrating life and raising their three children, Brenda, Kimberly and Sam. She was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother, she listened and loved with her whole heart.
A niece summarized Laverne’s life with these words, “She was instrumental in bringing family together; A kind, giving and loving aunt. Always willing to lend an ear, a hand or anything she had; a lover of all babies big and small; A woman of God and a believer of forever love; die hard polka fan, never missed an opportunity to celebrate her heritage; she came from a fix it generation and was always willing to share ideas of how to fix a relationship, big or small; her love language was baking old hand me down recipes; she had a knack for remembering and celebrating everyone’s birthday, anniversaries, etc.” Cancer may have taken her life, but her sweet memory will live on forever.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Walleck of League City; daughters, Brenda Walleck of Bayview and Kimberly Koch (Douglas) of Bayview; son, Sam Walleck of Alvin; six immensely loved grandchildren, Britney Walleck, Dalton Ricca, Alexis Ricca, Kaitlyn Koch, Kinsley Koch and Trey Koch; two brothers, Leroy Kremling (Linda) of Shiner and Alvin Kremling (Georgie) of Witting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elrose Garza; and brother, Eugene Kremling.
