Joseph James Novosad, 70, of Shiner, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., with Funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 10 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sweet Home, with the Rev. Robert Guerra officiating.
Burial will follow at Yoakum Restland Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Alec Wright, Edwin Wright, Adam Wright, Austin Novosad, Corey Stoner, Colton Stoner, Dillon Novosad and Brandon Novosad.
He was born July 18, 1954 in Yoakum, to Edwin Emil and Dagmar Mary Petruzela Novosad. Known affectionately as Joe, he was a typical man’s man, cherished for his simplicity, robust work ethic, and immense kindness. Joe’s life was marked by his profound love for his family, his knack for fixing and building things with his own hands, and his deep connection to his land and cattle.
Joe spent countless hours working on his land, a testament to his dedication to hard work and nature. His hands, always busy, found joy in building and crafting, leaving behind not just memories but tangible pieces of his legacy. A lover of music and history, Joe often immersed himself in books and documentaries, eager to learn and understand the past.
Joe’s life was a living example of love and laughter, always prioritizing others above himself. His legacy of selflessness and joy will continue to live on through his family and all who knew him.
He leaves behind a loving family; daughters, Megan Novosad of Kerrville and Jordan Hart (Chris) of Sweet Home; grandchildren, Avery Cheyenne Hart, Landon Hart and Ayden Hart. He is also survived by the mother of his daughters, Lisa Schroeder of Yoakum; three sisters and three brothers; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Dagmar Novosad; Timothy Carroll.
