St. Paul volleyball: St. Paul volleyball team opens season with several wins
The Lady Cardinals volleyball team has started off the season flying with a couple of victories in their opening matches.
St. Paul 3, Karnes City 0
The Lady Cardinals swept Karnes City 27-25, 25-16 and 25-16 on Aug. 13 in Edna to open the season.
Riley Mozisek and Skylar Mozisek combined for 29 kills, 17 and 12, respectively to lead the Lady Cardinals offense.
Addy Matias had six kills two aces, two digs.
Dallyn Pesek added 37 assists, 16 digs, two aces.
Avery Pesek had 12 digs, one ace; Faith Brown chipped in six digs, one ace, one assist.
Skylar Mozisek also had three digs, two aces, two assists; Tatum Walker had three digs, three aces, one assist.
Riley Mozisek also added three aces, three digs, two assists.
Erin Hajek had one kill, one assist, one dig.
Samantha Moeller had seven kills, one assist, one dig;
St. Paul 3, Rice 0
St. Paul hosted Rice on Friday and won in a sweep 25-21, 25-17 and 25-14.
Samantha Moeller had five digs, four aces, four kills; Avery Pesek had four digs, three aces.
Skylar Mozisek had eight kills, three digs, one ace.
Walker contributed two digs, one assist, one ace, Riley Mozisek had 11 kills, three aces, one solo block; Dallyn Pesek had 26 assists, six digs five aces, two kills, one block assist.
Matias had four kills, one ace, one block assist.
Brown had seven digs.
The Lady Cardinals were scheduled to play at Flatonia on Tuesday of this week and start play in the San Marcos Tournament today and continue through Saturday.
