The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas had no answer for Victoria East’s Rachel Ozuna.
The 6-2 junior outside and a Texas State commit, registered 18 kills in the Titans’ 25-22, 25-14, 25-16 victory over the Lady Brahmas here Tuesday, Aug. 20.
The first set was very competitive. There were five ties, the last at 21, prior to the Titans closing the 25-22 win with a 4-1 run.
The second set was a complete wash. The Titans took a 10-4 lead, the LB got within two at 12-10, but a 12-4 surge, led by Ozuna’s four kills, closed out the set at 25-14.
Hallettsville took a 12- 10 advantage following an ace and kill by Kenedy Wood, a net violation and a kill by Kasey Harper. But East came back with a 6-0 run and were never headed.
Harper had 9 kills, Wood and Jans Henke 5 each and Haven Drozd one. Alaina Halata and Hanna Zachary served aces.
