Spoetzl Brewery gears up for ‘Shinerfest’

Spoetzl Brewery is proud to host its annual Shiner Music Festival, or ‘Shinerfest’ this Saturday, September 28. The event will be on the lawn in front of the Spoetzl Brewery.
“This is what we’re calling ‘Shinerfest’ and it is a full day festival,” Spoetzl Brewery Marketing Director Nick Weiland said. “We’re referring to this as our second annual ‘Shinerfest’ because we had a similar event last year.
We’ve expanded the festival to a full day and invited even more talented musicians out for it. This is something that we have heard from our fans of the brewery for a long time. We’re trying to give that to them and we’re hoping for a successful festival.”
Doors will open at noon with the headliner scheduled to go around 8 p.m.
Notable acts playing are Jack Ingram and Lindsey Ell.
“Lindsey has had three number one singles in the last couple of years and she just finished touring with Shania Twain, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban,” Weiland said. “She’s one of the big up and coming names in the industry.
Jack Ingram is our headliner and will go on last. If you go back 20 years to when we had ‘Bocktoberfest,’ Jack Ingram actually played at the festival many years ago. This is a bit of a homecoming for Jack.”
Ell is scheduled to perform around 6 p.m. and Ingram will perform at 8 p.m.
Rick Trevino, Wayne Toups and the Original Remnants will also perform at the festival.
Tickets are still available and there are different price tiers. VIP tickets are $150 and include a private bar serving complimentary Shiner beer, a single use meal tab, snacks, a “Shinerfest” souvenir cup, access to private restrooms, private tent seating, and front row access to the main stage. These VIP tickets are going fast as there’s only about 15 tickets available.
General admission tickets, on the other hand, are still available for $50. This comes with three complimentary drink tickets. Those under 21 can also purchase general admission tickets for $30. Folks can buy tickets at shiner.com under the “Shinerfest” tab.
Those wanting to volunteer can also apply online as well.
“We have a lot of volunteers that have signed up already and we have room for a few more,” Weiland said. “It gets you into the event free of charge and folks can help out in some of the beer and food areas.”
Weiland wants to encourage everyone who can to attend the festival and enjoy the day.
“This is such an unique experience especially for people that haven’t been to the brewery or aren’t there on a regular basis,” Weiland said.
“You don’t get to see this kind of event happening at the brewery very often. It’s a very unique experience to be able to see such quality musicians and music and enjoy it in the beautiful surroundings of the Spoetzl Brewery.”
Weiland said they’re anticipating anywhere between 1,000 and 3,000 people. The brewery aims to continue this festival for years to come.
“We anticipate this getting bigger and better every single year,” Weiland said.
