Mildred A. Roznovsky
Mildred A. Roznovsky (Pospisil), 90, of Shiner, peacefully passed away and joined our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Shiner Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on December 2, 1933, to her parents Annie Gast and Aurelius J. Pospisil in Praha, Texas.
Mildred began attending school in Praha, and later attended school in Shiner where she graduated from St. Ludmila Academy in 1950.
She had an early start in her nursing career, she took her state board exam in 1951 and dedicated almost 40 years in the nursing field working for the F.M. Wagner Memorial Hospital.
Mildred married the love of her life in July of 1956, she shared 57 years with her husband Ben Charles Roznovsky before his passing in 2014.
Mildred was a dedicated Catholic. She earned her 60-year pin for being a part of the Catholic Daughters of Shiner, an accomplishment she held in high regard.
She was a member of the Texas League for Nursing Organization, and also a VFW Auxiliary member as her husband Ben was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Being a part of the Shiner community was natural to her, and she made many friends along the way.
Mildred is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ben Charles Roznovsky; her parents, Annie and Aurelius Pospisil; her brothers, Gerald Pospisil and Donald James Pospisil; her sister, Anne Petru; nieces, Joanne Petru and Eva Luna; sister-in-law, Anna Logsdon; brother-in-law, Charles Netardus, brother-in-law, Joe Martignoni; brother-in-law, Robert Logsdon; and great-nephew, Cole Kloesel.
She is survived by her nieces, Pamela Hampton and Jenny Gilbert; sister-in-law, Susan Kasper; sister-in-law, Joanne Pospisil; sister-in-law, Angeline Netardus; sister-in-law, Lilian Martignoni; and many other nieces and nephews.
A reciting of the Holy Rosary took place at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 7 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner.
A Mass of Christian Burial followed at 10 a.m., officiated by Fr. Michael Odartey-Lamptey.
Mildred was laid to rest in the Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
