Rosalinda "Rosie" Rivera

Rosalinda “Rosie” Rivera, 63, of Yoakum, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024. 
She was born in Shiner, to Joe and Sylvia (Rosas) Rivera. Rosie was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. When Rosie graduated from High School, she began her first job at HEB in Yoakum. She remained a devoted employee for 45 years until her sudden passing Saturday. 
She was a quiet person with apparently a lot of love to give, because she rescued ever abandoned dog and cat that she encountered. Her fur babies will miss her loving care.
Survivors include her mother, Sylvia (Rosas) Rivera of Yoakum; sisters, Becky Garcia of Yoakum and Elsa Rivera (Henry Burns) of Pearland; brothers, Ricky Rivera (Delores) of Katy, Joe R. Rivera (Minnie) of Yoakum and Marty Rivera (Nuvia) of Yoakum; nieces and nephews, Geneva, Monica, Amy, Stacey and Joe Jr. “BoBo”; and great-niece, and nephew, Zoe and Liam.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Rivera.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., with Funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. 
Burial will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
