Doris Petrosky
This is not a typical obituary because my mother, Doris Hagendorf Petrosky, was not a typical person. I will not say that my sister Christina Freeman, her husband Greg, sons Tyler and Gavin, and I are survivors, as if in a war. Rather, we are her torches that continue to enlighten people of warm memories of her.
Our mom seemed to struggle with life as much as she enjoyed life. She was a kind person who, at times, was confused, bewildered and stagnated by the difficult experiences in her life. However, I’ll always remember her laugh, her smile and her special colored eyes that set her apart from the crowd. She believed in independence, the good in people, and caring for the environment. She loved being her own person and would vigorously fight for what she believed. She was an intelligent woman, with strong feelings, a giving nature, and a warm heart.
Mom, I love you and I know you have always loved me and my sister. In peace now, passed into the Summerlands, your spirit lives on, reincarnated. Thank you for your love and your life. Your son, Paul.
