Indianettes 'ace' first test

Sacred Heart literally “aced” its first test with a 25-8, 25-13, 25-14 TAPPS bi-district victory over Waco Bishop Reicher Catholic in the SH Gym Saturday evening.

“Great start to our postseason. Nothing that happened throughout the season matters at this point. We just have to keep on playing,” Indianettes head coach Wanda Orsak said. “Winner stays in and advances.”

SH served 17 aces in the match against the hapless Lady Cougars.

The Indianettes, 14-14, played Galveston O’Connell in the regional round Tuesday in Galveston.

First set

The Indianettes jumped out to a 9-2 lead and were never headed.

SH led 19-8 after the first rotation.

Mallory Mueller and Annika Brooks had 3 kills apiece and Kenzie Chance 3 aces in the 25-8 win.

Second set

The Indianettes broke a 1-1 tie with a 8-2 run that featured and led 13-9 after the first rotation.

The Lady Cougars hung around prior to the Indianettes outscoring Reicher 8-0 to close out the set, 25-13.

Brooks had 7 kills in the set.

Third set

Sacred Heart had surges of 6-0 and 4-0 to win, 25-14.

Mueller served 3 aces and Brooks had 5 kills and finished with 18.
