Brahmas in Schmeckenfest Tourney
LA GRANGE – The Hallettsville Brahmas (2-6) went winless in the first-ever Schmeckenfest Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Brahmas came close with a three-point loss to Navarro a fivepoint loss to Brazos.
Schulenburg 65, Brahmas 41
The Brahmas fell to Schulenburg, 65-41, in the tournament Thursday morning.
The Shorthorns got off to a 21-4 start in the first quarter and were never headed.
Jorian Wilson had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Lockhart 67 Brahmas 56
The loss to Lockhart Thursday was a far cry from the Lions’ 86-52 victory over the Brahmas Nov. 25 in Lockhart.
Weston Loudon poured in a career-high 19 points in defeat for the Brahmas and Jorian Wilson produced a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Hallettsville had 23 turnovers in the game to Lockhart’s 9.
The Brahmas were 14 of 27 from the foul line and 6 for 19 on threepoint attempts.

A 14-5 second quarter run in the second quarter was the difference in a 32-29 loss to Navarro Saturday. The surge propelled Navarro to a 24-15 halftime lead.
Shane Migura scored 12 points to lead the Brahmas, all on three-pointers.
The Brahmas had only 10 turnovers in the contest, but were 4 for 10 from the foul line.

The Brahmas led 20-17 at the half before being outscored 29-11 in the final two quarters..
