Patricia Marie Barfield

Patricia Marie Barfield, 100, of Sweet Home, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024.
She was born Oct. 5, 1924 in Sweet Home to Carl and Marie Margaret (Mozisek) Huehlefeld.
Patricia was married to Barney “Bag” Barfield for 69 years and their life was filled with love, adventure, good and tough times, but their faith always carried them through. Their family cherished hearing them say their nightly prayers and looked forward to hearing how much they were loved.
Pat and Bag retired to Sweet Home where they lived their “best” years. She was an amazing seamstress and had a beautiful voice, especially enjoying singing Christmas music. She loved cooking great meals of fried chicken and chicken fried steak and then sitting on the porch, watching the simple beauty of life.
She shared that love of the simplicity of country life with her grandchildren, like her bluebonnet patches in the front yard, taking them to “sand land” and then judging their mud pie contests. Bag and Pat enjoyed dancing, working in the yard, especially on her beautiful zinnias, roses and amaryllis – she had quite a “green thumb” - and devoting their time to working the church picnic raffle.
Life has been lonely since Bag’s passing on Aug.  28, 2024. Pat celebrated her 100th birthday in October, acknowledging how many changes have occurred in her lifetime, but always feeling gratitude for all the goodness she has been blessed with. We give thanks that Bag and Pat are “together again”.
Survivors are her daughters, Brenda Walls (PG) and Bonnie Bowden (Larry); grandchildren, Christina Kelley (Josh), Jon Caples, Sarah Bowden, Samantha Bowden (David), Clint Armstrong (Kristy), and Matthew Walls (Iris); great-grandchildren, Kaylee Stavinoha, K J Stavinoha, Jacob Linkous, Katie Armstrong, and Jaiden Garza; numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mary Huehlefeld; husband, Barney Barfield; brother, Walter Huehlefeld, and sister-in-law, Judie Huehlefeld.
