Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches win three at Goliad tournament

The Lady Comanches basketball team went 3-1 at the Goliad Tournament last week.
Shiner 55, Blanco 14
Kailey Boedeker buried five triples and 19 points to lead Shiner to a 55-14 win over Blanco in the Lady Comanches’ first game. Morgan Lenehan scored in double digits with 17 points and two triples. 
Shiner led 13-6 after the first quarter and outscored Blanco 14-4 in the second box.
The Lady Comanches posted a 41-12 lead after three quarters and scored 14 of 16 fourth-quarter points.

Lenehan deposited 14 points and Boedeker tallied 11 with one triple as Shiner defeated the host Tigerettes 48-32. 
Shiner had a small 12-8 lead after the opening eight minutes and had it reduced by one after a 10-9 Goliad run in the second quarter.
The Lady Comanches went on a 14-5 run in the third box and swept up with 13 of 22 points in the final quarter.
Goliad was led by eight points by Sierra Arriazola.

With just a single-point deficit at halftime against Cuero, the Lady Comanches were unable to pull out a win as Cuero outscored them 31-17 in the last two frames.
The Lady Gobblers led 14-10 after the first quarter and led just 21-20 following a 10-7 Shiner scoring advantage. 
Cuero went on an 18-10 run and scored 18 of 25 points in the fourth period.
Lenehan hit a triple and booked 19 points to lead Shiner.
Laelah Mendiola paced the Lady Gobblers with 20 points and Mauryana Dasilva finished with three treys and 15 points.

Shiner finished out the tournament with a 52-23 rout of Port Lavaca Calhoun. Lenehan led with 15 points, one triple with JaMya Wright (12) and Kailey Boedeker (11, one triple) also scoring in double digits. 
Shiner started strong with an 18-6 run in the opening period and led 28-8 at the break after scoring 10 and holding the Lady Sandcrabs to just two points in the second. 
Shiner had a runs of 12-11 and 12-4 in the second half to seal the game. 
Fehrie Rodriguez led Calhoun with six points.
