St. Paul girls basketball: Cerny leads SP to win over JPII

Kristin Cerny registered 20 points and a triple, with Riley Mozisek producing 13 points in the Lady Cardinals’ 47-38 victory at Schertz John Paul II on Dec. 30.
St. Paul led 11-7 at the end of the first quarter and a 12-8 run by John Paul II in the second stanza birthed a 19-19 halftime lead. St. Paul went on a 16-4 run in the third quarter for a double-digit advantage before John Paul II outscored them 15-12 in the fourth period.
Leah Dorsey scored a dozen points and had two treys to pace the Lady Guardians while Allie Wood added a triple and 10 points.
