Fourth year for Lions Club “Flags Over Hallettsville” project

The Hallettsville Lions Club will once again hold its annual Flags Over Hallettsville program for 2025.

The program, which is the Lions Club’s fourth year for hosting it, involves homeowners or businesses, who wish to purchase a subscription, to have a 3-foot by 5-foot American flag attached to a 10-foot pole displayed at their residence during specific holidays throughout the year.

The project involves Hallettsville Lions Club members placing a pole with the flag attached in the subscriber’s yard a few days before each of the assigned holidays and removing the flag and pole shortly after the holiday.

The cost for homeowners or businesses interested in purchasing a subscription for having a flag displayed is $40.

The four holidays included in the subscription are:

• President’s Day (Feb. 17).

• Memorial Day (May 26).

• Fourth of July.

• Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11).

Deadline for orders is Wednesday, Feb. 8.

“The flag subscription fees are applied to projects and services that benefit the Hallettsville community,” Hallettsville Lions Club Flags over Hallettsville coordinator Virginia Partida said. “The proceeds enable our club to fund a variety of health, humanitarian, and youth service programs throughout our local community and beyond.”

Partida asked interested homeowners or businesses to join the Lions Club in promoting our country with a display of flags on neighborhood yards throughout Hallettsville.

Regarding new subscribers, the subscription is limited to anyone residing in the City of Hallettsville or no further than two miles outside the city limits.

Previous orders of those residing outside the two-mile limitation will be honored, if renewed.
