Shiner boys basketball: Comanche JV adds three more wins

The Shiner Comanches junior varsity basketball team continued their unbeaten district run with wins against Ganado and Schulenburg. 
Shiner 58, Bloomington 37
The Comanches won their final district game with a 58-37 win over Bloomington on Friday with Felix Nieto hitting two treys and scoring 25 points; Lane Simper added 10 points.
Nieto scored 11 points in Shiner’s 19-8 run in the first frame and Bloomington outscored the Comanches 14-11 in the second frame to put Shiner on top 30-22 at halftime. Nieto scored three points in the second quarter. 
The Comanches scored 13 of 24 points in the third period, with Nieto scoring six to lead and outscored Bloomington 15-4 in the final period with Simper scoring eight points.

Felix Nieto scored 21 points and hit three triples, Clayton Fric made a triple and sank 12 points while Lane Simper had a dozen points in Shiner’s 53-41 win at Schulenburg on Feb. 4.
The Comanches went on a 17-12 run in the initial quarter with Nieto booking 10 points.
The Comanches scored 13 of 22 points in the second period with six points by Simper.
Shiner outscored Schulenburg 13-7 in third box, led by Simper and Nieto who scored four points each.
The ‘Horns managed a 13-10 run in the fourth frame; Shiner was topped by four points by Nieto.

Shiner outscored Ganado 10-1 in the final quarter to rally from 26-23 down for a 33-27 win Jan. 31 at home.
Kaden Neskora was Shiner’s leading scorer with 12 points. 
Ganado led 14-10 after the first frame with Carson Brown scoring four points. 
The Comanches scored eight of 12 points in the second quarter with Neskora and Tyler Harvey scoring four each.
The Indians went on an 8-5 run in the third quarter; Brown had three to pace the Comanches.
Neskora and Fric each recorded four points in the fourth quarter.
