Indians defeat Reicher in Bi-District

WACO – The cream rose to the top as the Sacred Heart Indians headed the ship in the right direction with a 65-54 TAPPS Division IV bi-district victory over Bishop Waco Reicher Friday.

The win snapped the Indians’ four-game losing at the right time.

The middle quarters were the difference when the Indians out-scored the Cougars 44-34.

SH had an 11-9 lead at the first break and went on a 22-15 second-quarter run which was led by 6 points from Kolby Haas and 5 apiece by Riley Haas to up the lead to 33-24 at the half.

The Indians lengthened the lead to 55-43 at the end of the third period after Steffek scored 8 points and Riley and Kolby Haas 5 each.

Steffek tied for gamehigh scoring honors with 22 points and Kolby Haas and Riley Haas bucketed Riley Haas 12 points. Thomas Bradley also scored 22 points for Reicher.

The Indians made 7 of 15 free throws and the Cougars were 7 for 11.
