Powerlifters compete at Clash of Titans Meet

Yoakum High School (YHS) powerlifting teams competed in the Victoria East Clash of the Titans Feb. 15 with both teams getting eighth place or better.

LADY BULLDOGS

The Lady Bulldogs got eighth place. Raeshele Carroll got runner up in the 242-pound class with a 920 total, 400 squat, 185 bench press, and 335 deadlift.

Deavia Johnson was third in the 181 class with 820 total, 350 squat, 170 bench press, and 300 deadlift.

Kiera Herrera was No. 11 in the 165 class with 570 total, 240 squat, 115 bench press, and 215 deadlift.

Madie Svec got No. 12 in the 148 class with 530 total, 220 squat, 75 bench press, and 235 deadlift. Ava Dominguez was No. 14 in the 148 class with 210 squat, 80 bench press, 200 deadlift and 490 total.

Emmerson Wenske placed No. 13 in 132 class with 480 total, 190 squat, 80 bench press, and 210 deadlift.

BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs scored 17 points to place fifth.

River Bergman won the 308 class with 1,555 total, 650 squat, 405 bench press, and 500 deadlift.

Jack Meyer came in third in the 198 class with 405 squat, 315 bench press, 415 deadlift, and 1,135 deadlift.

Joaquin Varela was third in the 242 class with a 1,225 total, 475 squat, 295 bench press, and 455 deadlift. Jared Ramirez got fourth in the 242 class with 525 squat, 240 bench press, 430 deadlift, and 1,195 total. Eric Maciel was ninth in the 242 class with a total of 830, 330 squat, 185 bench press, and 315 deadlift.

Colby Jendrzey got a 1,145 total to place fourth in the 181 class with 405 squat, 335 bench press, and 405 deadlift.

Caden Werland placed seventh in the 148 class with 234 squat, 175 bench press, 285 deadlift, and 695 total. Andre DeLaCruz placed ninth in the 148 class with 175 squat, 115 bench press, 225 deadlift, and a 515 total.

Joel Gomez placed eighth in the 220 class with 385 squat, 265 bench press, 385 deadlift, and 1,035 total. Wade Manning placed No. 12 in the 220 class with 210 squat, 95 bench press, and 225 deadlift to total 530.
