Moulton softball: Kittens softball split games with Weimar JV, Blooomington
The Moulton softball team lost to Weimar’s junior varsity and blanked Bloomington in district games last week.
Weimar JV 16, Moulton 5
After a 3-3 tie with the completion of the first inning, the JV Lady Wildcats outscored the Kittens 13-2 for the rest of the game for a 16-5 win.
After a scoreless second frame, Moulton took a 4-3 lead in the top of the third before Weimar scored seven in the bottom of the inning and then outscored Moulton 6-1 in the third frame.
Bethany Kram took the loss with three innings pitched, 10 runs, eight unearned runs, six hits, three walks and one strikeout. Addison Simper pitched one inning in relief, one hit, six unearned runs, two walks.
At the plate, Kram was 2-for-2, run, three RBI; Simper batted 2-for-2 with two runs; Taylor Self went 2-for-2, a run and an RBI; Katie Richter was 1-for-3; Karsyn Blahuta batted 1-for-2, run and RBI while Erica Stringer was 1-for-1.

Moulton 19, Bloomington 0
Kram pitched a no-hit shutout with two walks and seven strikeouts in three innings as Moulton shutout Bloomington 19-0 on Friday.
The Kittens started hot by scoring a dozen runs at their first time at bat, scored four in the second inning and recorded three runs in the third frame.
Simper led the offense by going 3-for-3, four runs, two RBI and two stolen bases. Self hit 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI; Kram was 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run; Maddie Rothbauer swung 1-for-2 with thre runs; Sophie Vasquez was 1-for-1 with two runs; Madison Raab went 1-for-1; Richter had three runs and two RBI; Estrella Perez scored one run and had one RBI; Blahuta went 1-for-2 with one hit and Araceli Vasquez finished 1-for-3, run and three stolen bases.
