Shiner baseball: Comanches beat FHS in 10-inning pitcher duel
The Shiner Comanches grinded out a 1-0 win in 10 innings over Flatonia Saturday evening in Green-Dickson Park.
The game was postponed from the previous day due to weather and field conditions.
In the 10th inning, Landen Christensen doubled to start the bottom of the inning and Boe Boehm singled to score Christensen for the walk-off run.
At the plate, Jake Simper was 1-for-4; Landyn Pohler went 1-for-3, double; Christensen was 1-for-4, double and run; Boehm finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and Caleb Lehnert was 1-for-3
Charlie Clifford started on the mound and struck out 13 Bulldog batters with three hits ceded in nine innings. Simper pitched one inning with one strikeout to get the win.

Fayetteville 4, Shiner 1
The Shiner Comanches fell to Fayetteville 4-1 on March 25 in a non-district contest.
At the plate, Pohler hit 1-for-3, double and one run; Carson Schuette was 1-for-3 with one stolen base; Lehnert and Clifford each hit 1-for-3; Cauy Herman was 1-for-2.
Pohler started on the mound and worked two innings with one run on two hits, two walks and one strikeout. Christensen pitched three innings, three runs on three hits, five walks and six strikeouts; Simper closed with one inning and two strikeouts.
Fayetteville scored one run in the bottom of the first inning. Pohler led off the top of the second with his double and later scored to tie the game.
Fayetteville broke the tie with a single run in the fourth inning and scored two runs in the fifth frame.
