Moulton softball: Kittens win pair of playoff practice games, face Leakey in playoffs
The Moulton softball team won a pair of playoff-practice games last week.
Moulton plays Leakey in the first game of the area round at 6 p.m. today at Northeast ISD Complex in San Antonio.
Moulton 19, Victoria Cobras 8
The Kittens overcame nine errors to defeat Victoria Cobras 19-8 on April 22.
Bethany Kram worked five innings with three hits, eight runs, four walks and six strikeouts.
At the plate, Karsyn Blahuta was 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, one stolen base and one walk. Kram hit 2-for-3 with five RBI and one walk. Katie Richter hit 2-for-3, run, RBI, two waks and two stolen bases. Addison Simper was 1-for-2, two runs, three RBI, one walk and one stolen base. Araceli Vasquez went 1-for-3, run and walk. Sophia Vasquez was walked three times and scored two runs; Taylor Self had two runs and walked twice; Maddie Rothbauer plated two runs and had one walk; Valeria Pinedo had one run and two walks.
Moulton 3, San Antonio Saints 2
Moulton edged SA Saints 3-2 on Saturday.
Kram pitched seven frames with two runs on four hits, two walks and nine strikeouts. On offense, Simper was 1-for-3 with two RBI; Sophia Vasquez was 1-for-1, run and two walks. Pinedo went 1-for-2 and Blahuta was 1-for-3 with one stolen bases.
