Squaws eliminate LB

Jourdanton swept the Lady Brahmas in the area round of the playoffs 9-1 and 4-0.

The LB had a lack of offense because of the pitching of Jourdanton’s Hailey Sralik.

The LB (23-6) had only two hits in the 4-0 victory here Friday afternoon and only had three runners as far as second base.

The Squaws had six hits and six batters reached base via walks.

Hanna Zachary led off the bottom of the first inning when she was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Caitlynn Halata, but was left stranded.

Ashlyn Pustka had a lead off single in the third inning and was also left on base.

The score was 0-0 until the fifth inning. Jourdanton scored three runs with three consecutive hits.

The LB threatened in the fifth inning when Addison Matula walked but, too, was left on base.

Taylor Yeatts doubled in the seventh inning for the final Hallettsville hit.

Hanna Zachary HBP; Caitlynn Halata, Sac; Taylor Yeatts 1-3, 2B; Ashlyn Pustka 1-2.
