Moulton baseball: Knippa wins area-round series against Katz, winning both games by a single run

The Moulton Bobkatz baseball team fell to Knippa 4-3 and 3-2 in the area-round playoff series Friday in Moulton.
Knippa 4, Moulton 3 (Game 1)
With a 3-3 score entering the seventh inning, Knippa scored one run and then kept the Katz off the scoreboard in the bottom of the inning to win the opener 4-3.
The first inning was scoreless and Knippa took a 1-0 lead in the second inning before taking a 3-0 lead in the top of the fifth.
The Katz scored twice in the bottom of the inning to get within 3-2 and Moulton scored on in the sixth inning to tie the game.
For Moulton, Greyson Anderle was 2-for-4 with one run; Brandon Colchado hit 1-for-2 with one run, Landon Chaloupka was 1-for-4, Travis Haikenwaelder was 1-for-1 and Kenton Kirkland scored one run.
Chaloupka ceded four runs on eight hits, three batters hit, two walks and 11 strikeouts.

Knippa 3, Moulton 2 (Game 2)
In the second game, Moulton broke a 0-0 score with two runs in the third inning. Knippa outscored the Katz 2-0 in the fifth and then scored the eventual, game-winning run in the sixth inning.
At the plate, Bartos went 2-for-4 and scored one run while Chaloupka added one run.
