Sacred Heart Church Spring picnic Sunday, May 25

The annual Sacred Heart Parish Spring picnic will take place Sunday, May 25 with all activities at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville.

The traditional meal consisting of country fried chicken, stew, homemade cornbread dressing with all the trimmings will be served in the hall from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Drive thru plates-to-go will also be available from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All meals, in hall dining or plate-to-go, are $13 each.

A brief memorial given by Sacred Heart pastor Father Michael Rother at 1 p.m with the auction to follow at the main pavilion.

Inside the air-conditioned hall, a cake walk, country store and a religious article booth will be available as well as bingo starting at noon until 6 p.m.

Outside the hall, various booths will be available along with entertainment for the children throughout the afternoon.

Also starting at 10:30 a.m., the Kovanda Czech Band will perform under the main pavilion until 1 p.m.

In the afternoon, a free dance will be held under the Polka/Biergarten Pavilion with the Texas Sound Czech and the Red Ravens providing the music from 1 to 8 p.m.

Delicious hamburgers, nachos, popcorn, funnel cakes, sno-cones and plenty of cold drinks will also be available throughout the afternoon.
