Shiner Little League: LL All-Stars- Minor girls win district 31 EZ title

Shiner Little League minor and major softball and baseball teams competed in their East District 31 tournaments in Hallettsville and Lockhart. The minor softball team won the District 31 title.
Minor Softball
Shiner 7, Moulton 0
Shiner blanked Moulton 7-0 in their opener on June 13.
Shiner scored six runs in the first inning and added one in the fifth frame.
At the plate for Shiner, Bryleigh Neskora was 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI; Jade Boner hit 1-for-2 with two runs; Claire Cowan batted 1-for-3, run and two RBI. Mallory Stock hit 1-for-2; Tenley Ferguson was 1-for-2 with two RBI; Bridgette Fishbeck, Hattie Spann and Hadley Trojcak scored one run each.
Neskora pitched 5 2/3 innings with one hit, three walks and 12 strikeouts.

Hallettsville Red 10, Shiner 5
Hallettsville Red outscored Shiner 4-0 in the second inning on the way to a 10-5 win on June 14.
Shiner scored one run to start the game and Hallettsville scored three in the bottom of the first.
Shiner outscored Hallettsville 3-2 in the third to get within 9-4; Hallettsville scored one run in the fifth and Shiner plated one run in the sixth.
At the plate for Shiner, Chloe Pohler was 2-for-3 with two runs; Spann hit 2-for-2; Neskora was 1-for-1, RBI and a double. Harper Strzelczyk was 1-for-3, run and RBI; Boner swung 1-for-2; Adella Davis and Trojcak scored one run each.
Neskora pitched five innings with 10 runs on six hits, nine walks and eight strikeouts.

Shiner 14, Luling 4
Shiner got 14 hits in a 14-4 win over Luling on June 18.
Shiner led 2-0 after one inning, 8-2 after two innings and outscored Luling 3-0 in the third. Both teams scored two runs in the fourth inning and Shiner outscored Luling 1-0 in the fifth frame.
Fishbeck led Shiner at the plate with three hits and three runs. Cowan and Boner each went 2-for-3 with two RBI; Spann was 1-for-3, run and double; Neskora hit 1-for-1, double and three runs. Strzelczyk was 1-for-3, run, double and RBI; Remi Radicke was 1-for-2 with one run; Stock was 1-for-1, two runs and two RBI; Ferguson hit 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Neskora pitched 3 1/3 innings with four runs on two hits, seven walks and nine strikeouts to take the win. Radicke worked one inning with three strikeouts.

Shiner 17, Gonzales 1
A 13-run explosion in the third inning was key in a 17-1 Shiner win over Gonzales on Thursday.
Shiner led 4-1 after the opening inning.
Pohler was 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. Neskora was 2-for-3, three runs, RBI and double; Radicke hit 2-for-2, two runs, three RBI and a double. Fishbeck was 1-for-1 with one run; Strzelczyk and Cowan each scored two runs; Stock, Ferguson, Davis and Trojcak had one run each.
Neskora pitched three innings with one run, four walks and eight strikeouts.

Shiner 16, Cuero 4
Shiner had another double double with 16 runs on 12 hits as they routed Cuero 16-4 on Friday.
Shiner led 4-0 after one inning and outscored Cuero 6-3 in the second inning. Shiner scored one run and allowed zero in the third box and outscored Cuero 5-1 in the fourth inning.
At the plate, Spann was 3-for-3 with one run; Boner hit 2-for-3, three runs, four RBI and one double; Strzelczyk hit 2-for-2 three runs, one RBI; Ferguson hit 2-for-3, one run and one RBI. Radicke swung 1-for-2, two runs, double and two RBI; Neskora hit 1-for-2, two runs and one RBI; Fishbeck hit 1-for-3 with one RBI; Cowan and Trojcak scored one run. Pohler scored three runs.
Neskora earned the win inside the circle with three innings, three runs, three hits, two walks and five strikeouts. Radicke worked one inning with one hit, one run, walk and three strikeouts.

Shiner 13, Hallettsville 8
Down 7-5 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Shiner scored eight runs and went on to force a second game for the title in a 13-8 win over Hallettsville on Saturday.
Shiner led 2-0 after one inning and 5-1 after three innings. Hallettsville tied the game at 5-5 in the top of the fourth and Shiner tied things at 5-5 in the bottom of the inning. Hallettsville scored twice in the top of the fifth and managed one run in the top of the sixth.
On the bats, Pohler was 2-for-2 with two runs, one RBI; Fishbeck went 2-for-3 and one RBI; Radicke was 1-for-2, three runs and a double; Neskora was 1-for-2 with one run; Spann was 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI; Cowan hit 1-for-3 with one RBI; Stock finished 1-for-1 with two runs; Trojcak added two runs and Davis scored one run.
Pohler pitched 3 1/3 innings for the win with five hits, four runs, two walks and three strikeouts. Radicke went 2/3 inning with three runs, one hit, one walk and one strikeout; Neskora closed with two innings, one run, two hits, one walk and four strikeouts.

Shiner 9, Hallettsville 6
Shiner scored five runs in the fifth inning to deal Hallettsville a second defeat, 9-6, Sunday in the title game.
Hallettsville led 3-2 after one frame and the score was tied 3-3 after two innings.
Hallettsville regained the lead by outscoring Shiner 2-1 in the third frame. Hallettsville got within three in the top of the sixth. 
Spann led the hitting by going 2-for-2, three RBI and one run. Strzelczyk was 1-for-2 and two runs; Neskora hit 1-for-3 with one run; Radicke was 1-for-2 with one run; Boner was 1-for-3 with two RBI; Fishbeck swung 1-for-2, one run; Stock was 1-for-2; Trocak got one hit and one RBI; Davis scored one run. 
Pohler pitched 1/3 inning, three runs on two hits and one strikeout. Neskora pitched 5 2/3 innings to take the win with three runs on five hits, two walks and nine strikeouts.

Major Softball
Shiner played two games in the tournament in Lockhart.
Shiner played Hallettsville on June 16 in its first game, losing 23-0. Shiner took on Luling on June 17. losing 16-9 to conclude the tournament.
Minor Baseball
Shiner won three of five games in the tournament.
Shiner opened the tournament with a 6-2 win over Cuero on June 13. 
On June 17, Shiner defeated Yoakum 7-6 in international tie breaking.
Hallettsville beat Shiner 15-0  on June 18. Shiner rebounded with a 12-7 win over Yoakum on Thursday with Garrett Perez hitting an over-the-fence home run.
Shiner rematched with Hallettsville in the tournament championship on Friday with Hallettsville earning a 15-5 victory to take the tournament title.
Major Baseball
The major baseball team went 2-2 in the tournament, 
Shiner opened with Lockhart on June 17, taking a 5-3 win. Shiner played Hallettsville on Thursday, falling short 27-3.
Shiner played Lockhart for the second time on Friday and won 18-8 to setup a rematch with Hallettsville Saturday in the championship game. Shiner fell 19-2 with Herman Hernandez hitting an over-the-fence home run.
