Major Boys drop 2 games in Section 4 Tourney

KARNES CITY – The Hallettsville Major League All Stars’ season came to an end with two straight losses in the Section 3 Tournament Tuesday, July 1.

The All Stars led West Columbia 4-0 Tuesday, July 1 before everything went haywire.

West Columbia scored six runs in the fifth inning and went on to victory, 7-4.

Hallettsville produced a three-run third inning. Zachary Perez singled with one out. Cullen Hanslik and Kolby Kolacny both walked to load the bases. Chans Janak singled to knock in a run. Brax Threadgill singled before Alex Grahmann drove in a run with a double.

The final Hallettsville run came in the fourth inning.

Aiden Sosa led off with a double before scoring on an error.

Grahmann started on the bump and worked three innings. He retired all nine batters he faced and struck out four.

Grahmann went 2-for-3 at the plate as Hallettsville had six hits.

Beeville 9, H’ville 5

Beeville broke a 5-5 tie with four runs in the top of the sixth inning and went on to a 9-5 victory Wednesday, July 2.

Beeville batters drew eight walks and two errors led to two unearned runs.

Beeville scored two runs in the top of the first inning and Hallettsville replied with a run when Alex Grahmann hit a oneout double and scored on a base hit by Aiden Sosa.

Hallettsville tied the score at 2-all in the second inning on a run-scoring single by Jake Davenport.

Beeville led 5-2 after three and a half innings prior to Hallettsville scoring its final two runs.

Grahmann doubled to start the frame and scored when Colt Wagner reached on an error. Wagner scored when Sosa doubled. Braden Utley singled with two outs and came across on a wild pitch.

Hallettsville had eight hits with Grahmann and Sosa both going 2-for-2. Chans Janak and Brentley Steffek added singles.
