Shiner softball: Gulf Coast Bombers 16U Gold win World Series

    Gulf Coast Bombers 16U Gold went 9-0 in tournament play to clinch the championship at the USFA World Series held in Panama City Beach, Fla. The team batting average was .401 and they scored 56 runs on 69 hits. The girls had 7 HR, 20 stolen bases and held their opponents to only 16 runs in bracket play. Local players from Lavaca County include Kalli Kupka of Shiner and Addison Matula of Hallettsville.
