Indians travel to Pettus

The Sacred Heart Indians practiced in pads for the first time Thursday morning.

“Great first day in pads,” head coach Rodney Dowell said. “We have to improve on our timing and speed.

“We have a great coaching staff and a bunch of great kids.”

Dowell will get to see his team in action against an opponent Thursday when they visit Pettus starting at 6 p.m.

Pettus was 1-9 last year, but return 10 starters on both sides of the football.

Running back Felix Torres is small at 150 pounds but quick. Quarterback Ramon Reyna III missed part of last season with an injury and returns. The team lacks size in both lines.
