Charles Ferrell
Charles Ferrell, husband, father, and servant of the Lord, went home to be with his Savior on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Born in Memphis, TN on April 20, 1930, Charles joined the United States Navy in 1947. He faithfully served his country for 21 years before retiring in 1968, receiving an honorable discharge.
Following his naval career, Charles devoted his life to ministry, serving as a pastor for 41 years.
He began his ministry in Fallon, Nevada, before moving to Texas, where he served in several congregations including Schulenburg First Baptist, Shiner First Baptist, Austin Southwest Baptist, Batesville First Baptist and First Baptist Church in Jonestown.
His faith and love for the Lord left a lasting impact on countless lives.
He is survived by his sons, Gregory Ferrell and Deron Ferrell; daughters, Joyce and husband Jerry, and Joan and husband Don; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn Ferrell; and his mother, Leona Sutton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, Pflugerville with viewing at 9 a.m. and graveside service at 10 a.m.
There will be a memorial service for Charles at 11 a.m. Friday, August 22 at Hyde Baptist Church Chapel, 3901 Speedway, Austin, Tx. 78751.
The family invites friends to gather in remembrance for a life lived in service to both God and country.
In lieu of flowers, Charles’ family requests that memorial contributions be made in his honor to St. Jude’s.
