Yoakum Bulldogs have good scrimmage against La Vernia
The Yoakum High School football team had a good first scrimmage last week at home to the La Vernia Bears.
“The kids really got after it and played very physical,” Bulldogs head coach Bo Robinson said. “Offense was good in spots. We have some new guys at some positions so we have plenty of stuff to work on.”
The defense played very solid.
“We wanted them to be physical and fly to the football. They did just that,” Robinson said.
This week, Yoakum will host Edna on Thursday (tomorrow). They open the regular season Aug. 29 at home to Port Lavaca Calhoun.
“We need to be able to stay healthy through to the first game,” Robinson said.
