    Shiner Women’s United Tennis (SWUT) League hosted the Shiner September Slam UTR tournament at Green-Dickson Park on Sept. 6. 
    UTR is a system to organize level-based play and achieve a UTR rating to track improvement. 
    The well-attended event featured 39 tennis players from across various counties. Pictured are 1st and 2nd from each division. 
    All winners listed below:
    Blue Singles: 1st -Karan Chand (Victoria), 2nd -Gael Quintanilla (Austin), Backdraw- Zane Ramirez (Victoria)
    Green Singles: 1st - Mia Salazar (Cuero), 2nd- Leo Guiterrez (Victoria) Backdraw- Colby Nichols (Shiner)
    Yellow Singles- 1st- William Herzik (Schulenburg), 2nd - Brooklyn Perez (Victoria), Backdraw- Patrick Taylor (Schulenburg)
    Blue Doubles: Backdraw -Taneesha Devi/Joseph Caraveo (Victoria), Front draw did not conclude due to rain
    Green Doubles : 1st- Wade Johnson and Wade Johnson (Shiner), 2nd- Jennifer Arellano and Jo Ann Muehlstein (Shiner), Backdraw - Patrick Taylor and William Herzik (Schulenburg) 
    SWUT League’s next event is the Triples Tennis Tournament the morning of Oct. 11 (weather permitting).  Triples Tennis is a fast-paced 3-on-3 game in which players rotate positions after every point and play using orange balls to encourage long, competitive points. 
    Players will register in teams of four. 
    Registration will be posted on Shiner Women’s United Tennis League’s Instagram and Facebook accounts one week prior to play. 12 teams max.
