St. Paul cross country: St. Paul XC teams ready for state meet next Monday in Waco

The St. Paul cross-country teams will compete in the TAPPS state meet at Cottonwood Golf Course in Waco on Monday.
The Lady Cardinals and Cardinals ultimate goals are in sight.
“I feel like we are ready for the state meet,” head coach Nicco Brown said. “Everyone seems anxious and ready to get it done.”
The St. Paul girls have done well in the meets they have ran in this year and will look to do the same at state.
“The girls will need to run their race on Monday. They are a fierce bunch who are ready to compete,” Brown said.
For the boys side, it is about reaching individual time goals to contribute to the team.
“The boys all have individual race goal times and plan to go out and give their best effort,” she said.
Both teams will hope all the work they put in since August or the summer will pay off on Monday.
“Both teams have been practicing since the beginning of August, they have put in the time and given a solid effort daily,” Brown said. “ I pray that everyone is able to run to their best ability on race day. “
The 2A boys will run at 9:15 a.m. and the 2A girls are scheduled for 10:20.
