Moulton girls basketball: Kittens win first three games

The Kittens won their first three games of the season.
Moulton 45, St. Michaels 40
Audrey Swinford netted 16 points and one triple to lead Moulton to a 45-40 win over St. Michaels Nov. 7 at home.
The Kittens led 7-3 after the first quarter and went on an 18-6 second-quarter run for a 25-9 halftime lead.
St. Michaels scored 20 of 28 points to get within 33-29 in the third quarter and the Kittens outscored St. Michaels 12-11 in the final stanza.
For St. Michaels, Carly Gonzalez led all scorers with 26 points and five triples.

Araceli Vasquez made four treys and scored 18 points while Swinford netted 10 points as the Kittens held off an Edna second-half rally Nov. 11 at home, winning 36-33.
The Kittens led 5-4 after one quarter and were ahead 17-9 at halftime.
The Cowgirls got within 24-17 after three quarter and then outscored Moulton 16-12 in the fourth quarter.

Swinford bagged 21 points and Ava Olivarez added 11 points in Moulton’s 53-37 win at Smithville Friday. 
Moulton led 18-8 after eight minutes and the Lady Tigers went on an 11-5 run to get within 23-16 at halftime.
Moulton scored 12 of 21 points in the third quarter and finished the job with an 18-9 run in fourth period.
Lady Tiger Sydney B. was the high scorer in the game with 32 points and two triples.
