Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches get two wins at Goliad tourney, beat BHS

The Lady Comanches won their district opener and  went 2-2 last week at the Goliad Tournament.
Shiner 43, Cuero 40
The Lady Comanches opened the tournament Thursday  with a 43-40 barn burner against Cuero.
Beeville Jones 57, Shiner 27
The Lady Comanches fell to Beeville Jones, 57-27, in their second game on Thursday
Hallettsville 53, Shiner 50
A 24-13 Lady Brahma run in the third quarter helped Hallettsville to a 55-50 win over Shiner on Friday.
The game was square at 11-11 after the first frame and Shiner went on 14-7 run in the second quarter for a 25-18 lead at the break.
Hallettsville led 42-38 to enter the fourth quarter and slightly outscored the Lady Comanches 13-12.
Addy Siegel posted 18 points and Kenzie Springfield dumped down 16 points.
For Hallettsville, Alaina Halata scored 21 with a triple and Addison Matula booked 19 points and a triple.

Siegel netted 29 points as Shiner got by San Antonio Memorial 49-43 on Saturday.  Shiner led 14-7 after the first period and led 31-24 at halftime after both teams got in 17 points in the second box.
Shiner slightly outscored Memorial 10-9 in the third quarter and Memorial scored 10 of 18 points in the fourth. Gyana Munoz totaled 16 points and four triples to lead the Lady Minutemen while Madisson Garza added 10 points and two treys.

Siegel scored 29 points and made a triple as Shiner opened district play on Dec. 9 with a pretty decisive 75-6 win over the Lady Wildcats.
Siegel got started right off the bat as she scored 10 points in the first quarter as the Lady Comanches outscored the Lady Wildcats 25-1.
Jaliyah Barnett and Springfield each netted four points while Lexi Boner sank three points, with Hailey Radicke and Harper Lenehan each recording two points. 
The Lady Comanches used plenty of points from turnovers, making six baskets after getting steals.
Bloomington got on the board with a free throw by Sydney Lopez.
Evy Johnson, Siegel and Springfield each bucketed four points as the Lady Comanches went on a 13-2 run. Bloomington’s basket came late courtesy of Geneva McKinney. 
In the third stanza, Marie Johnson made three buckets, including a three, and tallied seven points as Shiner outscored Bloomington 22-0.
Siegel had another double-digit quarter as she sank 11 with her triple in the fourth quarter in a 15-3 Shiner run.
Right at the buzzer, Bloomington got a triple from Miranda Espinoza.
