St. Paul boys basketball: Matias helps Cards rally past Boling

Jace Matias scored 26 points, Tyler Pendley added 22 points and three triples with Jack Leonard sinking 14 points as the Cardinals won their first game of the 2026 calendar year in a 69-52 comeback win over Boling Friday at home. 
The Bulldogs took a 19-7 lead after the first quarter and a 20-11 run by St. Paul cut the Boling lead to 30-27 at halftime. 
St. Paul started the comeback with an 18-10 run in the third frame and sealed the win by doubling Boling 24-12 in the last eight minutes.
Isaiah Sanchez scored a minor majority of the points for the visitors with 32 and six treys.
