St. Paul girls basketball: SP girls defeat VFA, Bracken in home district games

    St. Paul freshman Ashlin DeSarro had a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while fellow freshman McKinley Jacobs scored 11 points in a 67-16 win over Victoria Faith Academy Jan. 20 at home. Senior Riley Mozisek was also in double digits with 10 points.
    St. Paul outscored VFA 23-9 in the opening quarter and built a 37-11 halftime lead.
    St. Paul blanked the Lady Cougars 22-0 in the third period and slightly outscored VFA 8-5 in the final quarter.

    A 15-9 third-quarter run was instrumental in the Lady Cards’ 39-30 win over Bulverde Bracken Christian Thursday at home.
    With a 36-26 advantage heading into the final eight minutes, St. Paul endured Bracken outscoring them slightly 4-3. 
    St. Paul led 8-6 after one quarter and outscored Bracken 13-11 in the second frame.
    Skylar Mozisek led St. Paul with 17 points and a triple while Riley Mozisek had a double double with 11 rebound and 10 deflections.
    Bella Isgro led Bracken with 13 points.
