St. Paul softball: St. Paul scores two dozen in win over SA Lutheran

    The Lady Cardinals crushed San Antonio Lutheran on the road and lost to Danbury at home in two games last week.

    The Rother twins really caused grief for San Antonio Lutheran as they hosted the Lady Cardinals on April 7— Presley was 4-for-5 with a triple, two doubles, three runs and five RBI while Hayden went 3-for-4 with triple, two RBI and four runs. 
    Also at the plate for St. Paul, Lexie Ulcak hit 2-for-5, three runs, triple and drove in five runs; Reese Patek was 2-for-4, triple, three runs and three RBI while Annie Werner got two hits, triple, RBI and three runs. Emery Kennedy also was a multi-hitter with two hits and scored two runs in St. Paul’s 24-2 demolishment.
    St. Paul led 5-1 after one inning, 8-1 after two frames, outscored SAL 2-0 in the third, 7-1 in the fourth and 7-0 in the fifth.
    Presley Rother pitched three innings with one hit, one run, two walks and three strikeouts. Werner worked one inning, one run, two walks and two strikeouts while Patek closed with one inning, three walks and one strikeouts. 
    Patek led the fielding with five putouts.

    Danbury plated six runs in the third inning and dealt the Lady Cardinals a 10-3 loss Friday at the Shiner Starplex.
    St. Paul led 2-1 after one inning and scored one run in the fifth to get within 7-3 before Danbury scored three runs in the seventh inning.
    At the plate for St. Paul, Presley Tuch was 2-for-4 with one run, two RBI and Hayden Rother got two hits with one run,
    Tatum Walker pitched 2 2/3 innings with seven runs on four hits, four walks and seven strikeouts.
    Presley Rother worked 4 1/3 innings with five hits, three runs, a walk and two strikeouts.
    Patek had seven putouts and one assist on defense.
