Comanche Band performs well at Junior Solo, Ensemble contest

Thirty nine  junior high Comanche Band members attended the Bulldog Invitational Solo & Ensemble contest in Yoakum on Saturday, May 2. 
“We are proud to announce that all of our students did an incredible job representing themselves, our band program, and the Shiner community with pride,” stated Zach Sims, band director. 
Students had the opportunity to play as an individual for a solo, or as a small group in an ensemble. Students could earn a division 1 or superior rating, a division 2 or excellent rating, a division 3 or average rating, a division 4 or below average rating, and a division 5 or poor rating.
The following students earned a division 1 rating on their solo performance.
Camilla Lozano, Reese Lyons, Chloe Pohler, Alexis Boedeker, Madison Conaway, Sophia Robles, Lilah Sykora-Cutchen, Wade Johnson, Cam Turek, Slayten Molnoskey, Pierce Wallace, Lyndon Leal, Alaina Sofka, Terry Vaughn, Brayden Pohler, Patricia Price, and Mary Sofka
The following students earned a division 1 rating on their ensemble performance.
Chloe Pohler, Scarlett Stefka, Mary Sofka, Wade Johnson, Killian McDonald, Patricia Price, Slayten Molnoskey, Terry Vaughn, Madison Kabela, Anthony Arellano, Aaron Cuevas, Pierce Wallace, Lyndon Leal, Carter Gipson, Blake Guetner, Brayden Pohler, Eli Pesek, Lex Currier, Cam Turek, Colby Strzelczyk, Trae Ramirez, Amara Cuevas, Avery Colman, Renee Johnson, Ace Radicke, Madeline Hairell, Preston Johnson, Kase Matula, Aubrey Nevlud, and Emerson Richter.
“We are very proud of all of our band members and the dedication and time given to perfect their solos and ensembles. They have made themselves and our band better, and for that, we are truly proud,” said Sims.
