Texans Helping Texans

On March 26 through early March 28, the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) was inundated with over 20 inches of rainfall.Eastern Starr County, southern Hidalgo County and northern Cameron County were the most severely hit and set records of rainfall at many locations in those areas.

Mass Casualty Training Drill Friday, Aug. 2

Lavaca Medical Center and Lavaca County EMS in conjunction with local emergency response agencies and Hallettsville ISD, will be conducting a Mass Casualty Incident Training Drill on Friday, Aug. 2 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Hallettsville Brahma Memorial Stadium parking lot.

Pipeline accident lands worker in hospital

Lavaca County EMS responded to a pipeline storing facility Tuesday, March 7, where a worker experienced a traumatic injury. Crewmembers were able to stabilize the patient and evacuate them to an appropriate facility via aircraft.

Ambulance struck by motorist on its way to a call Sunday evening

Hallettsville police cited a motorist Sunday evening in the 800-block of West Fairwinds Street (U.S. Highway 90A) after the driver failed to control his speed and struck the side of a Lavaca County EMS ambulance while that vehicle was responding to an emergency call just west of Hallettsville.
