Council amends food service ordinance

In an effort to ensure all food service businesses in Moulton have a grease trap, the Moulton City Council amended an ordinance at the June 11 meeting.The new ordinance states that all grease traps must have a minimum size of at least 500 gallons.

Council amends RV ordinance

The Moulton City Council amended an ordinance from 2012 at the May 14 meeting.This ordinance is in regards to RVs and people living in RVs.“People living in RVs are prohibited in the City of Moulton,” City Administrator LuAnn Rogers said.

Moulton Election results updated

Voters in the City of Moulton passed a proposition from the city that deals with street tax. There was a total of 49 votes for this proposition with 41 (83%) voting for and eight (16%) voting against.The proposition involves the reauthorization of the local sales and tax in the Citty of Moulton.

City enters into agreement with Cemetery Association

The Moulton City Council has entered an interlocal agreement between the city and the Moulton City Cemetery Association, Inc. at the April 9 meeting."This is for the cemetery association and the only change we have in place for this concerns illegal dumping,” City Administrator LuAnn Rogers said.

The Moulton City Council discussed grants for park improvements at the March 12 meeting."We’ve been talking about this for a little while now,” City Secretary LuAnn Rogers said.

Council targets substandard buildings in city

The Moulton city council discussed several city ordinances and approved one of them at its regular monthly meeting held Tuesday, Dec. 12. The first ordinance, approved by council at the Dec. 12 meeting, dealt with substandard buildings and the abatement of those buildings.

Mark Zimmerman will remain as mayor for the city of Moulton, voters decided Saturday. That’s after facing off for the post with former councilman Donald Wagner for the city’s top elected post as the only contested race on the ballots.
