SH drops 61-53 decision to Cougars

Sacred Heart started well in its TAPPS District 5, Division 4 game here Friday in the 61-53 loss to Victoria Faith Academy here Friday.The Indians had a 22- 20 lead at the end of the first period before a 17-5 second quarter led to a 37-27 Cougar halftime lead.

GEORGETOWN – The Sacred Heart Indianettes lost to Georgetown Grace Christian for the second time this season Tuesday, Jan. 13, 41-28.The Griffins led 10-9 at the end of the first period prior to an 11-4 second quarter to expand the lead to 21-13 at the half.

Nettes lose to Lady Cardinals

Sacred Heart took the court against St. Paul Friday with the odds stacked against them.The Indianettes hung with the Lady Cardinals for one period before the cream rose to the top.SP led 4-1 at the first break before a 14-5 second quarter gave the Lady Cardinals an 18-6 halftime lead.

Indians lose a close one to Cubs

CARMINE – A big discrepancy in free throws cost the Sacred Heart Indians in a 49-40 loss to Round Top-Carmine Tuesday, Jan. 6.The Cubs attempted 31 freethrows and made 15, while the Indians were 7 of 13 from the free throw c l i n e . Th re e I n d i a n starters fouled out in the contest.

Haas named second team All State

Clayton Haas topped Sacred Heart’s selections to the TAPPS 5-AA, Division IV all-district football team.Haas gained second team all-state laurels as a running back, was named an all-district running back and second team all-district as a linebacker.

'Nettes take third

VICTORIA –Alli Clark was named to the alltournament team as the Sacred Heart Indianettes (3-2) took third place in the Faith Academy Tournament Friday and Saturday.The lone loss was to the Victoria East JV, 46- 35 Friday.Kenzie Chance was in double figures with 11 points.

Indians finish second

VICTORIA – The Sacred Heart Indians played their first games of the season in the Faith Academy Tournament Friday and Saturday and finished second.Dillon Goedrich, Kolby Haas and Shooter Laqua were named to the alltournament.The Indians lost to the Gregory-Portland JV, 36- 34, in the finals.
