Kapavik’s first mass takes place in Shiner Saturday

Ryan Kapavik will do something that no Shiner St. Paul graduate has ever done before when he becomes the school’s first to accept the Catholic Rites of Ordination—the final step becoming a priest—in a special mass taking place at the Our Lady of Victory Cathedral in Victoria at 10 a.m.

St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Cougars edge St. Paul 58-54 in first round

St. Paul’s bi-district game against Conroe Covenant Christian turned out to be the typical game for the Lady Cardinals this season. Plenty of valleys and mountains during the game. Covenant Christian held the lead for the first half and a little bit into the third quarter before St.

Shiner Catholic School Fall Festival is Sunday, Sept. 25

The Shiner Catholic School PTC will host the annual Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 25 at the Shiner KC Hall. There will be a BBQ chicken meal, $12 per plate, which can be drive-through or dine-in. The meal tickets are PRE-SALE only.

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals won their 2022 season opener 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-20) against Bloomington at home on Friday. Ashlyn Pesek had six kills, one block. Avery Pesek contributed four digs, one kill, one ace; Dallyn Pesek had 24 assists, three digs, two kills, two aces.

Brown wins Coach of the Year award

St Paul coach Nicco Brown was chosen as the TAPPS 2A Female Coach of the Year 2021-22. She helped coach St. Paul athletes to a plenty of state success during the school year.

Catholic School work camp offers more than just a hard day’s work

What do you get when you take 60 kids, give them 18 separate work projects and then send them forth, all over town, on three of the hottest days yet this year to get it all done? Well, the answer to that question depends entirely on two items, really.

Shiner Catholic School freshman Audrey Thibodeaux of Shiner became the new Texas Junior High Rodeo Finals and State Pole Bending Champion at the state finals held last month at Gonzales’ J.B. Wells Park, Arena and Expo Center.
