Shiner boys basketball: Shiner boys all-district awards

The area-round finalist Shiner boys basketball team had three players receive special awards for All-District.Sophomore Jarvis Williams was named Newcomer of the Year.  Freshman Levi Werner received 6th Man of the Year and senior Reese Carson was selected as Defensive MVP.

Shiner softball: Shiner softball hits three homers in 11-0 win over Weimar

WEIMAR— Kalli Kupka hit two home runs, scored three total runs and drove in three runs to lead Shiner to an 11-0 win at Weimar on March 17.

Shiner track and field: Shiner boys track and field places third at Brahma Relays

The Shiner track and field teams competed in the Brahmas Relays on Thursday. The varsity boys headlined with a top three team finish.Varsity GirlsThe Lady Comanches scored 22 points to place seventh.100 — 6th, Jaliyah Barnett, 13.26; 15th, Cami Cowan, 13.87.200 — 5th, Tatum Carson, 27.

Shiner baseball: Shorthorns edge Comanches 3-2

The Schulenburg Shorthorns were sound defensively and pitching, and made a couple of more plays at the plate.The ‘Horns broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the fifth inning and held on for a 3-2 win over the Comanches Friday night at Green-Dickson Park.
