Shiner volleyball: Shiner JV wins runner up in Runge

The Lady Comanches Junior Varsity Gold won second at the Runge Tournament last weekend and went 4-3, with all three losses coming to the hosts.Kayden Smith and Emersyn Boehm made All-Tournament.

Lane Simper scored two touchdowns and Kaden Neskora added one touchdown to lead the Shiner junior varsity football team to a 24-6 win in the 2024 opener against Hallettsville in Hallettsville.On the defensive side, Clay Spann forced a fumble.

Local cross country: St. Paul’s Frances Filip gets No. 15 at Schulenburg meet

Shiner volleyball: Shiner spikers win Bronze bracket at Rice Tournament

The Shiner Lady Comanches won six of eight matches at the Rice Tournament and won the Bronze bracket.Saturday bracket playShiner 2, Tidehaven 0The Lady Comanches played Tidehaven in the Bronze semifinals, taking a 28-26, 25-8 win.

Shiner football: Brahmas rally in fourth quarter to edge Shiner 22-15

The Shiner Comanches came within 22 seconds of getting their first win against Hallettsville since 2021.The Brahmas had other ideas as quarterback Mycole Pegoda scrambled for a 6-yard touchdown and Tradyn Williams had a two-point run to put the visitors ahead 22-15 with 22 seconds left in the game.
