Shiner girls golf: Whiddon, LC golfers win district crown

The Shiner Lady Comanches golf team picked up the district title last week to advance to regionals as a team. Shiner had a tean score of 406, led by Chelsea Whiddon who had an 89 for second medalist.

Shiner boys basketball: Carson Schuette wins Co-MVP award

The Shiner Comanches boys basketball team, fresh off their second consecutive playoff appearance, had several players make 28-2A All District.Carson Schuette was named Co-MVP of the district.Jake Simper was selected to the First Team; Kyle Muehlstein and Jared Werner both made the Second Team.

Shiner girls golf: Shiner girls golf win SP, Navarro tournaments

The Shiner varsity girls golf team won the St. Paul Tournament (March 12 in Gonzales) and the Navarro Tournament (March 18 at Seguin Starke Park). SP TournamentThe Lady Comanches had a team score of 376.

Shiner track and field: Shiner girls win shortened Brahma Relays

The Shiner track and field teams competed in the Hallettsville Brahma Relays on Thursday with the varsity girls coming in first. Because of weather, the field events were canceled.Varsity GirlsShiner won the meet with 91 points, edging out Cuero who had 88.

Shiner baseball: Comanches nine beat Shorthorns, lose to GHS in extra innings

When first baseman Bode Werner got an unassisted putout and then threw to shortstop Carson Schuette for the double play,  Shiner breathed a sigh of relief.The Comanches were up on the Schulenburg Shorthorns 3-1 in the top of the seventh with the ‘Horns having two runners on and one out.
